OUR GATHERINGS

We love spending time together. In fact, “together” is one of our values. Some of us are outgoing. Some aren’t. Some like sports and some don’t. Some are gardening wizards. Some are…what’s the opposite of a green thumb? Some are married. Some aren’t. Some are young and some are, well, older. But we are a community. And we gather. Here is what you could expect at some of our gatherings.

Sunday Worship Gathering

We would describe our worship gatherings as casual, relaxed, fun. Definitely come as you are. If you like to dress up, that is fine. If you have the perfect Sunday morning hoodie, that works too. We love our coffee (or tea or water…) and snacks. Though we aren’t opposed to healthy snacks, we’ve been known to easily finish off a box (or two) of donuts. More importantly, the coffee and snack table seems to be where a crowd gathers catching up on the week. There will likely be some hugging going on too. We sit at tables. You will find paper and colored pens and markers on the table. Feel free to doodle if it helps you concentrate or take notes. We sing together. You could describe our musical style as modern. Anyone who can halfway decently play nearly any instrument or sing is welcome to join our praise team. You can go HERE for some songs that we sing together. There will be teaching. It isn’t unusual that questions are asked and people respond. Even if a question wasn’t asked, no one would think it weird if someone shared a thought during the teaching. To truly get a sense of who we are we invite you to join us.

The Details:

Tuesday Small Group

If you are looking for another opportunity to be together, our Tuesday Small Group is a perfect option. We get together at 6:30 and usually go for about 2.5 hours but some may (OK, many do) hang out longer than that. We usually start by sharing what is going on in our lives, catching up and then we do some sort of study together. In this group, we really dig. We ask a lot of questions. We wonder and explore. At times we really wrestle with what we are reading. It is a conversation but no one is required to share. The group is made up of both adults and teens, men and women. Oh, and there is coffee and snacks. Don’t forget the coffee and snacks. (you may notice a theme here.) Talk to Pastor Dan for details on where we are meeting.

5th Sunday Family Meal

On 5th Sundays of the month, we change things up. Our worship gathering is abbreviated. Our focus is instead on fellowship. To share what we have. This primarily looks like a shared meal. We will pick a theme…Mexican, breakfast, pasta, soup…and we all bring a dish to share. Sometimes we set up one large table. Sometimes we sit among several tables. There is food and conversation. But don’t be surprised if a card game breaks out or someone brings cornhole for a little competition. Either way, a shared meal on 5th Sundays is just as important to us as any other Sunday.

…and more…

The above certainly doesn’t include all of the ways we gather. There may be craft nights where a new painting technique is taught or an evening at the beach. There are also informal gatherings among Mosaic families at each other’s homes. All of that to say, we truly believe LIFE IS BEAUTIFUL TOGETHER.
